Wow, a lot has happened in the last week.
I finished a couple books:
The Calcutta Chromosome (a medical mystery novel about malaria, which was disappointing)
and
The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down, by Anne Fadiman, which was EXCELLENT.
On Friday evening I saw Sin City with Clinton and some friends. It was amazing, artistically speaking, but Clinton and I got into a fight afterward about the overly idealized supermodel-type ninja prostitute women and the fact that men are the cause of most war, crime and especially violence against women.
On Saturday I ran 5 miles at Audubon park, then Clinton and I biked to the French Quarter Festival to listen to music, examine funny folk art, watch a troupe of street-performing acrobats, eat an “oyster patty” and a “snow ball” before biking home and going to 2.5 hours of Couples Yoga at the Wild Lotus.
On Sunday we went to the First Unitarian Universalist Church and signed ourselves up for a Potluck/Game Night this Friday.
Monday evening I ran 5 miles at Audubon park again, and then Clinton and I started a 5-week course on Discovering Buddhism at the church, which I think will improve my Thailand and Vietnam experience this summer. I also just found out I’ll get a tax refund this year! Whooppee!
Last night we watched The Outlaw Josey Wales on DVD, starring Clint Eastwood, which was a fantastic Western about revenge and one really badass outlaw.
Have a great week, everyone.

Hi Crystal!
So seein’ as I’m gonna be involved in the whole wedding thing, I thought I should say hello.
I didn’t like Sin City much either, aside from the cool looks. It was an amazing visual spectacle. But the movie, to me, failed to make any statement about misogyny, as some people claim, and was instead just misogynist. If that makes any sense.
Also, I’m totally envious that Clinton is marrying someone who likes to play Duel of Ages. I haven’t played that game in almost a year.
Anyway, congratulations!
