Things I look forward to about owning our own house:
1) Opening the door to let Charlie out into the backyard at 6 AM (no more ice cold morning poop walks!)
2) Painting the walls any color we want, including mustard yellow and pumpkin orange;
3) Planting daffodils along the driveway and waiting for them to come out in the spring;
4) No more crazy neighbors stomping around upstairs screaming at each other;
5) Stomping around and screaming as loudly as we want to!
6) A ‘real’ address – no more “Apartment # 15″
7) No more leases, landlords, and rules!
8) Learning how to install and repair stuff;
9) Raking leaves;
10) Hiring people to mow the lawn;
11) Constructing built-in bookshelves!
12) Paying a mortgage (an investment) vs. throwing money into the wind;
13) Campaign signs on our very own lawn!
14) A big kitchen and a gas stove!
15) An attic!
16) A basement!
17) Privacy in general – running around the house naked, yeah!
18) A clothesline in the backyard!
19) Our own mailbox at the end of the driveway!
20) Creating a Dreisbach/Nixon family crest, embroidering it on a flag, and flying our family ‘colors’ off the front porch!

I am right there with you, buddy. Esp. #2,3,5 and 18! For my list, I will also add “holiday decorations”. I’m gonna have an Easter tree, fake tombstones at Halloween and twinkly lights all winter. Woo!
