Amazing bike ride weekend

Mary’s Marvels, our team of ten crazy, caped cyclists raised nearly $4500 for multiple sclerosis and biked an incredible number of miles this past weekend at the MS150!

We also had an incredible amount of fun. Some highlights from our trip:

  • Camping in Union Point Park, on the water!
  • Our night-time prowl through the little town of New Bern, NC, as we cracked ourselves up (and scared ourselves a little) imagining vampires and zombies in the historic churchyards and bed & breakfast inns.
  • The exhilaration from biking 79 miles in one day (and amazement that I wasn’t more tired or sore!)
  • National anthem sung by woman with MS and heart-string-pulling speeches about living with MS.
  • Incredible tan lines from my bike shorts, despite slathering SPF 55 sport sunblock.
  • Eating plates and plates of food from the pasta buffet, in the desperate need for “fuel”.
  • An entire two days spent making Borat jokes and talking in a terrible Borat accent!
  • All the complements we received about our fabulous capes!

A huge thank you to all my sponsors: Mom, Dad, Grandpa Driesbach, Uncle Jim, Kitty, Dan, Ryan, Kate, Carly, Halle, and Mia!

Be sure to check out the pictures, if you haven’t already!

17 MILES!

I’m still reeling with amazement (and the endorphins!) that we ran so far and so long. Salem Lake 30K race coming in less than three weeks!
