Belief-O-Matic!

This Belief-o-Matic quiz is really cool, though I’m not sure how accurate or useful it is.
I got interesting results – 100% Unitarian Universalist! Here are my top five matches:

1) Unitarian Universalism (100%)

2) Theravada Buddhism (97%)

3) Liberal Quakers (94%)

4) Neo-Pagan (94%)

5) Mahayana Buddhism (89%)

Happy New Year!

For this New Year’s Day blog post, I thought I would flash back to my entry from December 29, 2006. 2006 was a year of making adjustments and arranging ourselves into work, home and community. In a word, the year was about HARMONIZATION.

If I had to choose a word to describe what this past year (2007) was about, I would say TENACITY or maybe SWEAT. I believe I took on more feats of physical strength and endurance than any other year in my lifetime so far. This included several 60-mile bike rides and one amazing 79-miler, one half marathon, one 30 km run, and a marathon! It was also the year I turned 30 and we adopted Eli the dog.

Right now I am thankful to have a decent job, a solid roof over my head, a great running group, an awesome husband, three wonderful pets, and much more.

2008 ought to be very exciting. The HIV study I’m working on will begin in the spring, and I’ve just been assigned to the two South Africa sites, one of which is Cape Town. So I am thrilled to be anticipating lots of travel and adventure – and very hard work – in the coming year. Not only that, but the gals are trying to talk me into triathlon training. (We’ll see.)

Here’s to wishing everyone a healthy, prosperous and happy 2008.
