Welcome, Baby Dashiell!
5November 17, 2011 by Crystal
Last Friday (11-11-11) was a very special day for me and Clinton. It was the day our adoption agency called to let us know that a birth mother had selected us to have her baby! We couldn’t tell anyone officially until now, because all of the paperwork and formalities weren’t finalized until just now. The waiting which we have had to do these past several days has been excruciating - to say the least! – but it’s all worth it because:
Dashiell has arrived (pronounced “DASH-ull”), and he is the picture of perfection! Born 6 lbs 10 oz, 20.5 inches long on November 3rd, he is in perfect health, has lots of dark brown hair, and he is very, very handsome. In fact, he looks just like us! Today at 4 PM we will drive to pick him up from our adoption agency in Greensboro, NC and finally bring him home!!!
Thank you to all of our loving friends who have supported us through this (eternally long!) four-year baby journey, and for all the folks who helped get us get our nursery completely outfitted and ready for him in the span of two days! Soon you will see photos of Baby Dashiell on our Facebook and a website dedicated solely to his amazing little life.
IMPORTANT PLEA: Not only did we have just 72 hours to prepare for this baby, but we are super strapped for cash because we still owe our adoption agency >$15K. If you can…
- Contribute money (even $5!) via our Paypal account or by check (e-mail me if you need our address);
- Gift us an item from our baby registry; or
- Sign up to bring us food over the coming weeks/months (anything would be great, but especially stuff we can easily freeze and reheat)
…we would really, really appreciate it. Wish us luck! xoxoxox

Congratulations, you guys! And good luck on your new adventures with baby Dashiel!
Thanks, Rachel!!
Yay! I’d be happy to make Dashiell a baby quilt if one is needed.
Meg, you are the kindest, most thoughtful person. We get so much enjoyment out of the quilt you made us for our wedding. It has a prominent place in our living room on the sofa, and we use it every day! We can’t imagine that you have time and energy to make another one, but Baby Dashiell would of course love a baby quilt. xoxoxox Crystal, Clinton and Baby Dash
Yay! Is there any sort of theme or colors or so on that you’d like me to use as inspiration?
